G/On is available in two different versions, G/On Business and G/On Enterprise, targeting different types of organizations.

Both G/On versions are based on the same platform and include all the security features of G/On. The differences in the two versions are in connectivity and configuration options.

   
   

G/On Business

G/On Business is designed to minimize the initial investment required to provide direct access for a smaller number of people in a simplified infrastructure environment. G/On Business comes in a standard configuration without the features that are typically required by larger and more complex organizations. However, these features are optional and can be added to the configuration through separate licensing.

Optional features for G/On Business are:

  • Tokenless: Enables the G/On Server to run without the G/On USB Server Token. This feature is required if additional concurrent servers are implemented or if the G/On Server is installed in a virtual environment.
  • Additional Servers: Manages multiple, concurrent instances of the same G/On Server for load balancing and fall back
  • Help Manager: Activates the G/On Help functionality and enables the G/On Help Manager needed for user support
  • Help Client: This feature enables the client side of G/On Help
  • Auto EDC Adoption: This features is useful for large scale deployment of G/On Clients. It enables the G/On Server to automatically adopt connecting devices rather than requiring manual adoption of devices.
  • External Database: Enables G/On to store its configuration in an external database such as Microsoft SQL Server. This feature is required if multiple G/On servers need to share the same configuration.
  • Multiple Domains: This enables G/On to authenticate users against multiple and different domains.
  • Multiple IP Addresses: This feature enables the G/On Client to connect to the G/On Server on alternative IP addresses. Typically required if multiple G/On Servers are installed for fall back purpose on different physical locations.
  • Multiple Ports: This feature enables the G/On Client to be configured to connect to the G/On Server on alternative ports. This feature is typically required when users need to connect to the Internet from corporate networks where certain ports may be closed for outbound traffic to the Internet.

G/On Enterprise

G/On Enterprise is intended for large organizations and comes with most of the features included. The initial investment is higher but has a lower per user cost as the number of users grow.

There are some optional features for G/On Enterprise as well. These are:

  • Tokenless: Enables the G/On Server to run without the G/On USB Server Token. This feature is required if additional concurrent servers are implemented or if the G/On Server is installed in a virtual environment.
  • Additional Servers: Manages multiple, concurrent instances of the same G/On Server for load balancing and fall back

License Agreement

The licensing of G/On is governed by the G/On End User License Agreement (EULA).

Maintenance Agreement

In addition to the initial licensing of the G/On product, Giritech offers an Annual Maintenance Agreement. This Maintenance Agreement has a first year mandatory subscription with the initial purchase of G/On and all subsequent purchases within the first year of licensing. Customers will receive annual notifications of the renewals of their Maintenance Agreement and these will be renewed automatically unless Customer specifically asks for it to be cancelled. Cancelled Maintenance Agreements can be reinstated for a fee in addition to the cost of the retroactive activation of the Maintenance Agreement.

The Giritech Maintenance Agreement covers:

  1. Licensing of all major and minor updates and releases of Customers’ licensed G/On version[1]. New versions are not covered by the maintenance agreement and new added functionality may require separate licensing.
  2. Access to Giritech’s online support tools and discussion forums
  3. Access to downloads, software updates and new release

    [1] G/On version identification consists of three numbers: G/On X.Y.Z, where ”X” is the main version number that designates specific generations of G/On and the underlying technology. ”Y” designates major releases of a version and a new major release will typically include new functionality. ”Z” designates a minor release – or maintenance release - and a new minor release is typically focused at smaller fixes or updates of existing functionality.

The Maintenance Agreement does not include telephone and e-mail support directly from Giritech and it does not cover the cost of implementing the new releases and updates of G/On.

G/On USB

Separate from the G/On license itself customers buy the special G/On USB that is manufactured specifically for G/On.

The G/On USB holds 1GB storage capacity.

Limited Warranty

Giritech warrants the G/On USB hardware product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the Warranty Period, which begins on the date of purchase by the original end-user purchaser and lasts for twelve (12) months. This limited warranty is non-transferable and extends only to the original end-user purchaser. Your exclusive remedy and Giritech’s entire liability under this limited warranty will be for Giritech, at its option, to (a) repair the G/On USB with new or refurbished parts, (b) replace the G/On USB with a reasonably available equivalent new or refurbished G/On USB, or (c) refund the purchase price of the G/On USB less any rebates. Any repaired or replacement G/On USB’s will be warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer. All G/On USB’s and parts that are replaced become the property of Giritech.

Exclusions and Limitations

This limited warranty does not apply if: (a) the G/On USB has been altered or modified, except by Giritech, (b) the G/On USB damage was caused by use with non-Giritech products, (c) the G/On USB has been subjected to abnormal physical or electrical stress, misuse, negligence, or accident, (d ) the serial number on the G/On USB has been altered, defaced, or removed, or (e) the G/On USB is supplied or licensed for beta, evaluation, testing or demonstration purposes for which Giritech does not charge a purchase price or license fee. ALL SOFTWARE PROVIDED BY GIRITECH WITH THE G/ON USB, WHETHER FACTORY LOADED ON THE G/ON USB OR CONTAINED ON MEDIA ACCOMPANYING THE G/ON USB, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. Without limiting the foregoing, Giritech does not warrant that the operation of the G/On USB or software will be uninterrupted or error free. The G/On USB may include or be bundled with third party software or service offerings. This limited warranty shall not apply to such third party software or service offerings. This limited warranty does not guarantee any continued availability of a third party’s service for which this G/On USB’s use or operation may require. TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. ALL OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF NON-INFRINGEMENT, ARE DISCLAIMED. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary by jurisdiction. TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL GIRITECH BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST DATA, REVENUE OR PROFIT, OR FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT (INCLUDING ANY SOFTWARE), EVEN IF GIRITECH HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT WILL GIRITECH’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE G/On USB. The foregoing limitations will apply even if any warranty or remedy provided under this limited warranty fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Obtaining Warranty Service

If you have a question about your G/On USB or experience a problem with it, please go to www.giritech.com where you will find a variety of online support tools and information to assist you with your G/On USB. If the G/On USB proves defective during the Warranty Period, contact Your Giritech Partner or sales@giritech.com for instructions on how to obtain warranty service. Please provide your G/On License number and the G/On USB serial number and proof of purchase on hand when calling. A DATED PROOF OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE IS REQUIRED TO PROCESS WARRANTY CLAIMS. If you are requested to return your G/On USB, you are responsible for properly packaging and shipping your G/On USB to Giritech at your cost and risk. Do not include any other items with the G/On USB you are returning to Giritech. Defective G/On USB’s covered by this limited warranty will be repaired or replaced and returned to you without charge. Customers outside Denmark are responsible for all shipping and handling charges, custom duties, VAT and other associated taxes and charges. Repairs or replacements not covered under this limited warranty will be subject to charge at Giritech’s then-current rates.

Information about Giritech’s current technical support offerings and policies (including any fees for support services) can be found at www.giritech.com. This limited warranty is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Product was purchased by you.
