Recently, Giritech and IBM held a joint seminar under the heading: "The Internet - your new Local Area Network". A/S GreatBelt Bridges presented how G/On is an integral part of their business model and ATP, the largest pension administrator in Denmark, discussed their use of G/On for external contractors.

During the seminar, Giritech and IBM went through the many opportunities for consolidating the network using G/On, including G/On in connection with Lotus Notes. |

ATP’s Jens Michael Cramer shows how ATP are using G/On to solve the remote access challenge, when external consultants needs access to ATP's production systems. With G/On, a consultant can be given direct access to a business application - without giving the consultant general access to the network - and without the need for ATP to supply the consultant with an ATP administrered laptop. The G/On solution has resulted en significant savings - while also being much easier to administer - compared to the former VPN solution with RSA Tokens that it replaced. |

GreatBelt's IT-Director Peter Christensen - and IBM's Per Riisberg (furthest away in the picture) walks the audience through, how GreatBelt with app. 100 employees - using G/On - can run a virtual organization at times numbering more than 3000 workes. This includes people in the toll boots, contracters etc. The G/On USB key is the glue, that connects it all together. GreatBelt is now expanding the concept to other bridges and installations outside Denmark - and are bidding at more facility management contracts on large bridges around Europe. |

The seminar got very positive feedback, as can be seen here. Customers overall, after hearing the presentation, came away convinced, that the time is ripe to go to the next step of exploiting the Internet - as the new secure Local Area Network - using G/On. |
